John McEnroe and SPORTIME have assembled a talented staff of world-class teaching and fitness professionals, to make John's vision of a New York based, non-residential tennis academy a reality. And now his vision extends to Westchester at the new SPORTIME Lake Isle club.
SPORTIME Lake Isle will feature 8 indoor har-tru (green synthetic clay) tennis courts under 3 state-of-the-art air structures and a 5,000 square foot clubhouse on two levels with superior viewing. Along with its sister facility, SPORTIME Harbor Island in Mamaroneck, SPORTIME now offers 16 beautiful indoor/outdoor soft surface tennis courts in lower Westchester within 15 minutes of each other. One low-priced membership provides access to and Membership Benefits at both facilities.

Programs Under John McEnroe Tennis Academy at John McEnroe Tennis Academy
This is the John McEnroe Tennis Academy program for our youngest rising stars. Based on the USTA 10-and-Under Tennis training program, and featuring pros from the JMTA, this specially-designed program will give kids ages 6 to 9 the strongest foundation for 10-and-under tournament play, and for subsequently moving up to the John McEnroe Tennis Academy.
This is the John McEnroe Tennis Academy program for our intermediate players aspiring to join JMTA. It's one-and-a-half hours of tennis instruction, drills and matchplay.
In the summer, from Memorial Day through Labor Day, we are open from 8am to 8pm, all the days of the week.
On the following holidays we are open as follows:
•Thanksgiving Day: 8am to 4pm
•Christmas Eve Day: 8am to 3pm
•Christmas Day: 9am to 3pm
•New Year's Eve: 8am to 3pm
•New Year's Day: 9am to 3pm
•Easter Sunday: 7am to 10pm
Directions:
From Long Island, Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx:
Take your best route to the Hutchinson River Parkway and proceed north. At exit 17 turn left at light onto North Avenue. At next light, bear left to Mill Road. At next light make right onto California Road. At next light turn right on to White Plains Road. At next light, make right into Lake Isle Country Club and proceed to parking lot.
From New Jersey: Tunnel to Leewood Drive. Left turn at 1st stop sign, left turn at light onlto White Plains Road (rte 22). At second light make right into Lake Isle Country Club and proceed to parking lot.
From Rockland and Connecticut: Take your best route to the Hutchinson River Parkway, southbound. Take exit 18W and make a right onto Mill Rd. Proceed as above.
Once you're parked, walk to the entrance to the right of the golf shop and follow signs for the tennis courts.

John McEnroe is one of the greatest tennis players of all time. He held the #1 world ranking in singles for 170 weeks between 1980 and 1985, and was the #1 doubles player in the world for a record 257 weeks. He is the winner of 7 Grand Slam singles titles, including 4 US Open titles and 3 Wimbledon titles. He is also widely considered to be the greatest doubles player ever, having won 10 Grand Slam doubles titles and winning his last ATP doubles title just three years ago after a 12 year absence from the ATP Tour. He is the greatest Davis Cup player in history, and he also captained the US Davis Cup Team. John has been the captain of Sportime's World TeamTennis franchise, the NY Sportimes, since 2000, and he is an Emmy-nominated commentator for CBS, NBC, BBC, ESPN and USA. John grew up in New York City, where he graduated from the Trinity School, and later attended Stanford University, winning an NCAA team and singles title his freshman year. He continues to live in New York City, where he has raised his 6 children.
A native New Yorker, Lawrence is recognized as one of the top developmental coaches in the US. He has trained more ranked juniors than anyone in the history of the USTA/Eastern Section. Lawrence is also the personal coach of Noah Rubin, who trains at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy and who has been Lawrence's student since the age of 7. Noah is a top American tennis prospect reaching a career-best #14 ITF junior world ranking for boys 18 and under, #1 in U.S. Boys16 and under standings, and reaching the quarter finals of the 2012 Junior French Open. His students have won numerous National and regional Championships and 18 USTA Eastern Year-End Sportsmanship Awards. He is the Director of Tennis of the John McEnroe Tennis Academy, overseeing it at its locations at Sportime Randall's Island in Manhattan, Sportime Bethpage Tennis on Long Island and Sportime Lake Isle in Westchester.
Peter Fleming Associate Academy Director
Peter, a native of Chatam, NJ, has been a highly successful tennis professional, as a player, coach and commentator, for over 40 years. He teamed up with John McEnroe to become one of the greatest doubles teams in tennis history. The duo won 50 doubles titles together, including four Wimbledon and three U.S. Open Grand Slam championships. The pair was named ATP Doubles Team of the Year in 1979, 1981 and 1983-84. Fleming played on three American Davis Cup winning teams 1979, 1981-82 and compiled a Davis Cup doubles record of 14-1, all with Johnny Mac. He reached the world No. 1 doubles ranking in 1984, and had a career high singles ranking of No. 8 in 1980. Prior to turning professional, Fleming played collegiate tennis for Michigan and UCLA; in 1976, he won the NCAA doubles title and led the Bruins to the NCAA team championship. Since retiring as a player, he has become a lead commentator for Sky Sports and recently relocated back to New York to again team up with partner John McEnroe as Associate Academy Director of JMTA, at both Randall’s Island and Lake Isle.
